Floral Card

Bastille Day Birthday

Today is Bastille Day, but more importantly, it is the birthday of two people I know. I made this birthday card for one of them.

Thank you card

Our baby just turned one. Here's a Thank You card I made for his one year birthday. Better go write those thank you notes now.

Print for the Sampler!

We created a collaborative print with The Sampler for the February Sampler. It's a limited run of 250. You can get one in the Sampler Shop! By the way, I am totally into mermaids and narwhals right now.

New Purses

Here are two new handmade bags that I just added to ArtGhost - a pretty black and white pattern:

And another variation on the ever-popular DJ purse, this one in green and blue polka dots:

These pictures are a bit deceptive: the green purse is actually larger than the black and white.

Purse mania!

I just finished sewing a whole boatload of handbags to send to ArtStar in Philadelphia. These are all fabric purses, some with blockprinted images.

Sampler contribution for March

We have gotten together a contribution to the Sampler for March. It's four different designs of some little 4" x 5" cards.

I Shop Indie

We are part of a really cool advertising collective called I Shop Indie. The idea behind it is that indie craft businesses can pool their advertising dollars to purchase ads that they couldn't afford on their own. The result is a website that is a hub for independent designers, and consumers can click through to individual designers' websites. In the end, consumers benefit from being exposed to a greater choice of goods than they would otherwise, and are also exposed to an alternative to mass produced goods.

This is one of the reasons that the indie business community is so great. Not only are designers creative in the products that they make, but in their overall approach to business. The community is constantly coming up with new ways to spread the word about their businesses, and doing it in a collective, mutually supportive manner.

Anyhow, that's my plug for indie businesses everywhere.
