It's that time of year again - time to draw snow and starry skies.
Ah, who am I kidding? I draw snow and starry skies year 'round.

Lady Ninja!
I recently attended our local SCBWI conference and attended the art director's class, where we were asked to create a series of images based on Jack Be Nimble. So I decided to do a girl ninja, because, well, girl ninja.

Regency pig
Just wanted to draw a Regency-era lady. And...she has a pig. I'm unsure why, but I'm sure you can imagine all the crazy shenanigans that will ensure.

Jane Eyre, P.I.
Inkpril day 6? I'm getting behind here.
Jane Eyre's on the case. The case of Who Does This Owl Belong to? and the case of Maybe the Owl Belongs in this Locked Room.

Inkpril is here!
Well, it’s been forever since I posted anything. I’ve been busy doing the final illustrations for my picture book and finishing up a book cover project, and now have some free time again.
I’ll be posting ink drawings for the month of April for #inkpril - It’s basically Inktober (where you post an ink drawing a day every day in October), except in April.

The time is right for a ghost cat and ghost fish gif. Mainly because I am waiting for massively giant files to upload.

A girl and her eye patch and her dragon
Sketch I did for fun.
Fun fact: When I was a kid I had to wear an eye patch for a while, which I thought was pretty awesome. It was a temporary facial paralysis (Bell's Palsy), which in my case was caused by nerve damage from chicken pox. I couldn't close of my eyes or move anything on one side of my face. I'm sure my Mom was terrified but people felt bad for me and gave me presents and I wore an eye patch and got to drink out of a straw (which apparently was some sort of exciting novelty?). I was young enough that I was not aware of and did not care about the way my face looked. The only thing I didn't like was getting up super early to go to appointments at the neurologist's.
