Illustration Friday - Tranquility

I noticed a lot of people used floating in water for their tranquility images. I thought about trying to come up with something different, but this is the image that initially sprang to mind when I thought of tranquility. So, it's not terribly original, but what the heck. I like water.

I love the perspective through the leaves above...it's really evocative of a lazy tranquil summer day.
I like it!

Beautiful! I especially love the framing that the black leaves provide. We seem to have chosen a similar theme - I'll check out some others (it'll be interesting to see others that were also likeminded :)).

So pretty! Is this what it felt like on the gondolas?

Your picture makes me wish I were on that boat instead of in a cubicle. And also that I had that dress. It looks like it's made out of some comfy, floaty, natural material, instead of the corporate-friendly long-sleeved dark blue blouse and skirt I stupidly decided to wear today despite the fact that it is 99 degrees outside and my car has no air conditioning. Perhaps I can just visualize the picture and cool off...

If you haven't already, I think you might want to add a (C) copyright note to your blog/stuff you post, in order to protect your work.

Here is one that my friend who is the Web editor for the Getty came up with:

"(C) Liz Wong. The text and artwork on this Web site is protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. Reproduction or redistribution of any portion of this website is prohibited without prior written permission."

You can read about some here. Or you can see how my friend Wendy did it (e.g., "Don't steal my stuff"). I think I told you about how since she took the last photos of Elliott Smith before his death, her photos were lifted by a ton of people, including Pitchfork, who, after he died, took a shot from the magazine site and refused to respond to requests to take it down or pay for it. Lame. Don't let this happen to you!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

I love this. You've drawn her as an artist of the period would have, stylistically speaking. I wouldn't mind floating along like this right now either. Wonderful!
