Illustration Friday - Aging

I had a hard time coming up with something for this week. I have to thank Aaron and Jenny for making this suggestion, an aging house sliding off a cliff, while we were out on the Oregon Coast for a friend's wedding.

This is really happening just up the coast from us at Birling Gap. A whole row of houses is slowly disappearing over the edge of the cliff into the sea. It's so sad. Lovely illustration.

  3. I love the concept and I love the whole feel of your illustration. The colors, composition, and lines remind me of a Hiroshge woodblock print...it's just lovely!

  7. Thank you! I think it came out kind of kozyndan-ish, with cross-hatching inspired by Brett Helquist (of Lemony Snicket book illustration fame).
